Released in June 2026, these special Matcha Monchhichi are available exclusively from the SawaWa Arashiyama store in Kyoto, Japan.
These gorgeous Matcha Monchhichi keychains are exclusive items from the Japanese matcha sweets shop SawaWa (茶和々) in Kyoto.
Unlike widely available Japanese Monchhichi releases, these were purchased directly from the shop during our visit to Kyoto, where purchases were strictly limited to one of each design per person.
Luckily for Kawaii Aisle, it was a family trip… 😂🍵
Choose from two beautiful designs:
💚 Okoicha Monchhichi – SAMH001
A wonderfully unusual green-fur Monchhichi inspired by rich Japanese matcha, featuring a “JAPAN MATCHA” tea bib, tea-leaf detailing and gold ball chain.
❤️ Chatsubo Monchhichi – SAMH002
Dressed in an adorable traditional green tea-inspired outfit with a pale green head covering, red apron, embroidered 茶 (tea) motifs and gold ball chain.

These are a particularly lovely choice for collectors of Japanese regional Monchhichi, Kyoto souvenirs and unusual Japan-only releases — or anyone whose two great loves happen to be Monchhichi and matcha. 🍵😂💚
Each item was personally selected in Japan and brought back to the UK for Kawaii Aisle.
