Rare Monchhichi Osaka Limited Takoyaki Lying Plush – Japan Regional Exclusive | 712892

An incredibly unusual Osaka Limited Monchhichi — and one you certainly don’t see every day! 🐙🇯🇵

A particularly difficult-to-find older Osaka regional Monchhichi, complete with its original Osaka Limited tags and protective hand coverings.

This special regional Monchhichi is designed around takoyaki, one of Osaka’s most famous foods. Rather than the traditional seated Monchhichi shape, this version has an adorable long, lying-down plush body, with Monchhichi’s face peeking from the takoyaki-style hood.

The costume features a golden takoyaki colour with brown sauce detailing, colourful embroidered toppings and the little takoyaki pick protruding from the top. Even better, this example still has the protective paper coverings over the hands, which is a lovely detail for a collector.

The original hang tag clearly carries 大阪限定 – Osaka Limited, along with the matching takoyaki Monchhichi artwork.

🇯🇵 A very special Japanese find

Osaka regional Monchhichi are highly collectable in their own right, but I particularly love this one because it’s so different from the conventional Monchhichi plush. It would make a fantastic companion to the Osaka Takoyaki S plush or a standout piece in a regional Japan collection.
